What this site collects

Only what you type into its forms: the catering request, the catering question box and the contact form. Depending on the form, that can include your name, phone number, email address, your event's date, time, place and guest count, the food you are interested in, your budget range and any notes you add. To protect the forms from abuse, the site also records a one-way scrambled form of your internet (IP) address, which cannot be turned back into the address.

The site sets no cookies for visitors and uses no analytics or advertising trackers. While you fill in the catering request, your draft is kept in your own browser's session storage so it survives a page reload; it is cleared when you send the request or close the tab, and it is never sent anywhere until you press send.

Where it goes and how long it is kept

When you press send, your request is saved, encrypted, in the storage of the service that hosts this website, and emailed to Gaelos so we can reply about your event, confirm a menu and send a quote. Saving it first means a request still reaches us if an email is delayed; the site keeps trying to deliver it for up to three days. Your email address, if you gave one, is set as the reply address so an answer reaches you directly.

Saved requests are deleted automatically 180 days after they arrive. Submissions our system flags as likely spam are deleted after 30 days.

Who can see it

Gaelos receives each request by email. The saved copies can be opened only by the small team at Quellor that builds and maintains this website, each signing in with their own account, and every look at a saved request is logged. Our automatic alerts about delivery problems never include your personal details. In the rare case that saving and emailing both fail at the same moment, an encrypted copy is placed in the website team's internal alert channel so the request can still be recovered; it cannot be read without the website's key. In the unlikely event that our primary storage, email delivery, and alert systems are all unavailable, an encrypted copy of your inquiry may be temporarily recorded in our hosting provider's technical logs. These logs are retained according to the hosting provider's applicable retention policy.

Services that help run the site

• Netlify hosts the site and stores saved requests (encrypted). Like any web host it processes the technical details of each request (such as your IP address and the page requested) to serve and protect the site, under Netlify's own privacy policy.
• Resend delivers form messages to our inbox and processes each message in order to deliver it.
• Instagram. The videos on the home and gallery pages are Instagram reels. Nothing is requested from Instagram until you open a video; from then on Instagram's own privacy policy applies to that player.
• Google Maps. “Get directions” links open Google Maps in a new tab.

Changes

If the website starts using new tools, such as visitor analytics or online ordering, this page will be updated to say so.
